ABSTRACT
This is the second of a two part-series on Davanloo’s intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP).
In the first part, the theoretical foundations for Davanloo’s metapsychology of the unconscious were
reviewed. In the past five years Davanloo has focused his teaching on a live, Closed Circuit interviewing
programme. The format of this programme, the Montreal Closed Circuit training programme, was also discussed
and an interview from this programme was reviewed. This second article continues with this interview,
exploring it in depth. Special consideration is given to the application of multidimensional unconscious
structural changes as a means of creating intrapsychic changes.
